President & CEO

Massimo Ciarla

Mr. Ciarla is a professional engineer with more than thirty years of experience in executive board and managerial positions. He has held positions as President and Executive Chairman of Maccaferri Inc. the Amercian subsidiary of Maccaferri, a worldwide leader in soil stabilization, soil erosion and sediment control, soil retaining structures, coastal protection works and mining solutions.

 

Mr. Ciarla has worked in many countries such as Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Mexico and USA, and in different management positions and responsibilities in the fields of highway design, soil erosion and sediment control, coastal erosion mitigation, geo-hazard protection, mining solutions.

 

As an Executive Chairman of Maccaferri Inc. (2011-2015) Mr. Ciarla established Maccaferri as a preferred provider to mining operators in the USA. He implemented creative strategies and plans to identify new marketing business and product opportunities in the mining markets.

As President of Maccaferri Inc. (1995-2011) Mr. Ciarla fostered and implemented nationwide strategic planning and intelligence operations into all five Company Business Unit and operatiing departments.

Mr. Ciarla is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish. He holds a MSCE PE Degree in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering earned from the Department of Engineering – University of Rome (Italy) in 1975.

Mr. Ciarla has been a member of the Italian Professional Engineering Association, Rome region, since 1978. He is an ASCE Associate, a member of the International Erosion Control Association which he served as a President in 1989-90 and a Council Member of the Geosynthetic Material Association.

Claudio Bazzichelli

Mr. Bazzichelli is a dynamic and results-driven executive with a progressive entrepreneurial career developing highly innovative and successful organizations from the ground up. Mr. Bazzichelli has expertise in providing critical thinking and developmental strategy in support of a company’s vision with a demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional, cross-cultural teams in competitive and fast paced environments.

 

Mr. Bazzichelli held increasingly responsible leadership positions advising Fortune 500 clients in the management consulting practice of the financial services industry at Accenture in New York City. During this time Mr. Bazzichelli was instrumental in the creation of a new entity that sold, implemented, and maintained a proprietary financial management solution at a global level.

 

Mr. Bazzichelli left Accenture to cofound his first venture, a multinational luxury consumer goods company that sold products in North America, Russia, Japan and the Middle East. Later he continued his career as an entrepreneur through the conceptualization of a business-to- consumer social ecommerce platform.

 

Mr. Bazzichelli worked at the World Bank Group directing business transformation and business development for the World Bank retail assets.

 

Mr. Bazzichelli is fluent in English and Italian. He holds a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering degree from Cornell University and is a licensed Airline Transport Pilot.

Senior Advisor

Adriano Gilli

With experience in African markets (both English-and French-speaking), Mr. Gilli gained extensive knowledge in environmental protection applied to civil and mining engineering.

 

As Managing Director of Maccaferri SA (2008-2019), he led the South African subsidiary of Maccaferri, a worldwide leader in soil stabilization, soil erosion and sediment control, soil retaining structures, coastal protection works and mining solutions.

 

With a geological training applied to hydraulic, civil and mining engineering, he has offered engineering services and infrastructure protection products, being strongly motivated to add value through innovative solutions and partnerships; he has experience in turnkey contracts, and in temporary JVs with consultants and contractors.

 

He was a Founding Member of the International Erosion Control Association in South Africa, has experience in the ISO quality environment (9001:2015; 14001:2015), and implemented Lean and Safety programs (OHSAS 18001).

 

Mr. Gilli graduated in Geological sciences and worked in the Built Environment sector for over 30 years, in commercial, marketing and management positions.

 

He is based in Italy and in South Africa, where he resided for 25 years; he holds dual citizenship (Italian and South African) and has worked with global companies and clients.

Senior Advisor

Alberto Servienti

Alberto Servienti is a mechanical engineer with 30 years’ experience, 18 years of which were spent in the Airports/Aviation sector.

 

Throughout his career, Alberto Servienti has managed and supervised all design activities, comprising planning, programming, development, control and testing. He has also gained extensive experience in managing human and material resources and has also gained increased experience in designing rolling stock and industrial presses, as well as airport infrastructure and facilities.

 

Working in S.E.A. S.p.A. (Milan Linate and Malpensa Airports’s Operator Company) Alberto Servienti has spent 13 years as the Head of the Automated Systems Dept. for the design of automated equipment for transport and handling of passengers, bags and goods – having personally designed most of the automated systems for Linate, Malpensa Terminals 1 and 2 and Malpensa Cargo City – and 5 years as Head of Infrastructure and Systems Design Dept. and as Infrastructure and Systems Design Post Holder.
